SettlyGo is a platform that connects newcomers to Germany with verified local helpers who assist with administrative tasks such as registration (Anmeldung), bank account opening, apartment viewings, and other settlement-related services.
Browse independent helpers on our platform, select your preferred date and time, and make a secure payment. Your chosen helper will contact you to confirm the details, and you'll meet at the agreed location.
Helpers on the SettlyGo platform are verified students and locals who are familiar with German administrative processes and speak multiple languages. All helpers go through a screening process and must provide ID verification.
Helpers on the platform speak 15+ languages including English, German, Spanish, French, Arabic, Hindi, Italian, Portuguese, Persian, Turkish, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Korean, Chinese, Marathi, and more. You can filter by language when browsing helpers and select one who speaks your language.
We use service-based flat rates for most common services (€39-€89 depending on the service). Custom services are charged at €39/hour. The VAT-inclusive total is displayed upfront before you complete your booking, with no hidden fees.
No, SettlyGo is a paid booking platform. Some Berlin offices and social projects offer free language and appointment support in specific cases, for example, telephone interpreting for certain Bezirksamt Mitte appointments, or social accompaniment through programs like Lotsenprojekte. SettlyGo is a different kind of service: you can book directly, choose your helper, get support before and after your appointment, and access help for a wider range of tasks across Berlin. It is useful when you need flexible scheduling, direct booking, or help that is not covered by limited public programs.
We accept all major credit and debit cards through our secure payment processor, Stripe. Payment is required at the time of booking.
Yes, you can cancel your booking anytime. Refund amounts depend on when you cancel and whether you're a first-time or returning customer. First-time customers get: 100% refund (24+ hours before), 50% refund (less than 24 hours before). Returning customers get: 90% refund (48+ hours before), 50% refund (24–48 hours before), no refund (less than 24 hours before). If your helper cancels, you always receive a 100% full refund.
We have a more generous policy for first-time customers to build trust. First-time customers: 100% refund if cancelling 24+ hours before, 50% if less than 24 hours before. Returning customers: 90% refund if cancelling 48+ hours before (10% processing fee applies), 50% for 24–48 hours, no refund under 24 hours. This encourages early planning while being fair to helpers.
If a helper needs to cancel your booking for any reason, you automatically receive a 100% full refund regardless of timing. We understand this is inconvenient, so we'll also immediately work to find you a replacement helper at no extra cost. You'll be notified via email with your refund details and rebooking options.
Refunds are processed back to your original payment method within 1-2 business days of approval. However, depending on your bank, it may take 5-10 business days for the funds to appear in your account. You'll receive an email confirmation with the refund amount and expected timeline as soon as we process it.
Your satisfaction is our priority. If you're unsatisfied with the service, you can file a dispute within 48 hours of service completion. We'll review each case individually and may issue partial or full refunds at our discretion.
Yes, the documents required depend on the service you're booking. For example, address registration requires your passport, housing contract, and visa. Your helper will provide a checklist of required documents when they contact you to confirm the appointment.
Duration varies by service. Most appointments (like registration or bank account opening) take 2-3 hours, including travel and waiting time. You can select your preferred duration when booking.
We currently operate in Berlin, with plans to expand to other German cities soon. Check our booking page for the most up-to-date list of available cities.
After booking, your helper will contact you via phone or email to confirm the meeting point, time, and any specific details. You'll typically meet at the location where the service will take place (e.g., the Bürgeramt, bank, or apartment viewing location).
Absolutely. We take data security seriously and comply with GDPR regulations. Your payment information is processed securely through Stripe and never stored on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Yes; you can browse all independent helpers on the platform and book directly with the one you choose. Helpers independently decide which bookings to accept based on their own availability.
In the rare event that a helper doesn't show up, please contact us immediately at hello@settlygo.app. We'll find you a replacement helper as quickly as possible or issue a full refund.
No, helpers do NOT provide legal advice. SettlyGo helpers are like paying a local friend to accompany you; they help you navigate appointments, translate conversations, and understand basic processes. However, they are not lawyers, legal advisors, or certified immigration consultants. For complex legal matters (visa applications, contracts, legal disputes), you must consult qualified legal professionals.
No, helpers on the SettlyGo platform are not certified or sworn translators (beglaubigte Übersetzer). They can translate everyday conversations, help you understand documents during appointments, and communicate on your behalf in informal settings. For official legal translations (documents for visa applications, court proceedings, etc.), you need to hire a certified translator.
Think of SettlyGo as paying a local friend to help you. Our helpers accompany you to appointments, translate conversations in real-time, help you fill out forms, explain German administrative processes, and provide moral support. We are a companion service, not a professional consulting service. Helpers cannot guarantee specific outcomes or make legal decisions on your behalf.
Helpers cannot: (1) Provide legal, immigration, or professional financial advice, (2) Make legal decisions on your behalf, (3) Guarantee approval of applications or outcomes, (4) Provide certified translations for official documents, (5) Represent you in legal proceedings, (6) Give tax advice or prepare tax returns. For these services, please consult licensed professionals.
Yes, you can book a service for a friend or family member. Just provide their contact information when booking, and the helper will reach out to them directly to coordinate the appointment.
If you're interested in becoming a helper, please apply through our Helper Signup page. We'll review your application, verify your identity, and conduct a brief interview. Helpers must be familiar with German administrative processes and speak at least two languages.
If you need to reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible at hello@settlygo.app. Rescheduling is subject to our cancellation policy and helper availability.
We currently focus on individual bookings. However, if you're interested in group or corporate services (e.g., onboarding multiple employees), please contact us at hello@settlygo.app to discuss custom solutions.
